Aurélie Mathigot

Aurélie Mathigot is a French Paris based artist with many talents. Winner of of the Paris Grand Prix award for creations and craft, she elaborates her research performances at the Mac/Val, Valenciennes beaux arts museums, in Geneva or in Rio or at the Centre national des Arts plastiques.

She uses yarn to create scultpures in rope, wool, cotton using crochet and other techniques associating various materials and everyday objects and photography.

She creates an illusion though textile textures, using objects and images to interfere with reality creating a new original nature.

Intruiged by her way of treating photography and embroidery we started collaborating with Aurélie and with a new group of highly experimented rug weavers in the North of Albania.
