About

Since 2008, Po! Paris has been blending craftsmanship and materials to create stylish and ethical product lines. Committed to solidarity ethics, we have developed our projects in partnership with NGOs working towards the development and empowerment of communities, primarily in Albania and Uganda.

From the design stage, we aim to foster a collaborative approach between our designers and the local artisans we work with. Our manufacturing process is guided by a commitment to eco-responsible sustainable development. It incorporates local craftsmanship and uses recycled or renewable materials such as car frames, grain sacks, and tree bark.

Tisserande de PO! Paris en Albanie derrière le métier à tisser
PRODUCTION IN COOPERATIVES, IN PARIS AND ALBANIA

At the very beginning of the brand’s creation, John Felici was tasked with developing partnerships with NGOs and supporting local cooperatives that preserve traditional craftsmanship. Captivated by Albanian weaving techniques, he developed his first collection inspired by their traditional patterns and colors. In Albania, each region has its own unique techniques and designs:

Geometric patterns in the South, naive and colorful designs in flat weaving (kilim) in the plains, and knotted rugs in the mountains. Our rugs, cushions, and baskets are woven one by one on a vertical loom by three or four weavers working side by side, using exclusively local wool. The production of our creations involves a wide range of techniques: flat weaving, knotting, a combination of both, and even embroidery.

Cabas rouge en laine avec une fleur brodée, PO! Paris

« Po! Paris » literally means « Yes! Paris » in Albanian. Albania is a land of hospitality, color, imagination, craftsmanship, and a touch of whimsy. Paris needs no introduction, with its bustling cafés and endless conversations, its architecture and vistas, its obsession with style and chic—an endless source of inspiration.

Po! Paris brings together two worlds, weaving collaborations between craftsmanship and inspiration, between the talents of weavers, welders, blacksmiths, and milliners, and the creatives who have made Paris their home.

Our Artists

Po! Paris weaves collaborations between craftsmanship and inspiration, bridging the talents of weavers, welders, blacksmiths, and milliners with creatives who have made Paris their home. Designer Aurélie Mathigot

Aurélie Mathigot

Aurélie Mathigot is a multi-talented Parisian artist. Winner of the Grand Prix de Paris for creation, she develops her research at the Mac/Val, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Valenciennes, in Geneva and Rio, and at the Centre National d’Arts Plastiques.

She uses thread to create sculptures in rope, cotton, wool, with a simple hook or by combining other techniques and materials, everyday objects as well as photography.
She works on an illusion of a new and original nature, using textures and mediums to establish “interferences” with reality.

Intrigued by the way of treating photography and embroidery, we founded a new collaboration between Aurélie and a group of weavers in a small town in the North of Albania.

Designer Nathalie Léte

Nathalie Lété

Nathalie Lété lives and works in Paris. In her work she mixes a large number of different media and techniques, from textiles to ceramics to painting on canvas and wood.

Very active, she is inspired by her travels, old toys, nature and bloopers.
Her work draws on popular art, influenced by his own origins, between China, Germany and France.

Her very colorful, naive and poetic, sometimes disturbing work is often inspired by the atmosphere of the Brothers Grimm tales. She is an illustrator of children's books and creator of a wide variety of objects (knitted toys, postcards, limited edition rugs, screen-printed accessories and more). She works on commission for many publishers and in her own name.

Designer Philippe Model

Philippe Model

Decorator, stylist, scenographer, costume designer and museographer, Philippe Model transforms any living environment into an enchanting space. He is known throughout the world for his famous shoes, hats and gloves. He has always created collections for the big names (Dior, Hermès, Lanvin, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Kenzo, etc.). He also created fashion accessories for Yves Saint Laurent and Thierry Mugler for a long time, until the day he decided to work for himself.

The artist is fascinated by colors and manipulates them with audacity. Between the elegance of moldings and the madness of colors, he plays with wall surfaces, space then becomes his playground. His poetry and creativity have convinced more than one!

The Albanian weavers’ sensitivity to colour seduced Philippe, leading him to create a collection of rugs and accessories in knotted woven wool, in no fewer than 45 different shades. For this collaboration, as rich as it is unique, we thought of the rug as a painting, composed by the artist, Philippe Model.

John Felici

John Felici is the founder of the Po! Paris brand and designs a large part of the collections. Of English and Italian origin, his real talent is to bring distant worlds together.

A Parisian by adoption, he combines the flair of the capital of fashion and design with that Balkan genius – which some call madness – and a touch of African wisdom.
Appreciating collaborative design, he develops his creations working hand in hand with producers, inspired by their environment, culture and aspirations.

All of his creations are the result of a combination of materials available on site, an approach faithful to the principles of sustainable and united development, and the requirements of high-end markets, all often in partnership with players in the local associative world.
